The Opportunity
At Goodman Fielder we are on a journey to revolutionise our business, and we're looking for capable team players with a hunger for bringing our vision to life. As such, we're currently looking for a collaborative and resourceful Investment Analyst in our CBD head office.

The role will work closely with the Senior Finance Manager Operations to develop a value adding business partnering role to the engineering function, and to help consolidate capital plans across the whole business including supply chain and sales. Once capital processes are established and embedded, the role will expand to develop a best practice framework for New Product Development, including the financial appraisal and the build of assumptions to support this evaluation. This will involve expanding the business partnering relationship to include R&D, Marketing and Costing.

The focus of this role will be to develop reporting across strategic and BAU projects, consolidation and submission of capital forecasts to group and general governance relating to capital projects across the business.

Key Deliverables
  • Design a capital reporting framework suitable for the NZ business
  • Facilitate the monthly reporting of actuals and forecast into key exec forums (most notably Exec S&OP and OLT)
  • Ensure the NZ leadership team have greater awareness of the capital plan
  • Create greater awareness of actual capital spend versus plan and the pipeline of future projects - provide insights designed to keep projects on track, and prioritisation of future projects
  • Establish the governance and reporting required for key strategic projects
  • Assist in the financial appraisal of business cases, and support best practice AFCE development which is consistent across the business
  • Support, implement and execute the development of a best practice financial framework for New Product Development and Direct Marketing Investment

What you need:
  • Tertiary Degree in Accountancy / Commerce
  • Proficient with integrated accounting packages
  • Proven ability to collaborate with and influence cross functional teams at all levels
  • Understanding of financial analysis and insights
  • Ability to identify and focus on critical issue
  • A quick learner and an inquisitive and pro-active attitude

In this key support role, you will build on the current momentum, help to shape and prioritise sustainability at BNZ, and lead on annual qualitative and quantitative reporting requirements for BNZ and National Australia Bank.
Working closely with the GM Sustainability and Sustainability Manager, you will assist with the implementation and integration of the sustainability strategy and delivery of our key targets, as we hardwire sustainability across BNZ.

You will already be highly regarded as a sustainability subject matter expert, or a similar role. The following will ensure your success in this role:
  • Experience in managing, analysing, and reporting data sets & sustainability reporting processes;
  • Understanding of the Global Reporting Initiative and other sustainability reporting frameworks;
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, across the organisation;
  • Demonstrated project management experience;
  • Passionate about sustainability and the role of financial institutions to be able to influence and implement change.
